9 Amazing Nepali Temples you should visit before you die

For Hundreds of year’s temples also have stayed integral to the Nepali society. As the neural centers of Nepali spiritual existence, these temples came into wielding enormous powers. In this blog, I am going to introduce you to some of the most beautiful temples of Nepal.

1.Ram-Janaki Temple Janakpurdham

The Ram Janaki temple is also known as नौ लाख मन्दिर(Nine Lakh ) is dedicated to Lord Rama and Devi Sita, particularly his duel forms of Ram and Janaki. Janaki is named after the daughter of Janak.

Lord Rama is the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu according to the Bhagavad Gita. He was the ruler of Ayodhya (which lies in India). This Temple plays the vital role in the relationship between India and Nepal.

In the holy festival, the people of Mithilanchal sing different types of songs. These songs were widely spread all over the country unusually far west of Nepal.This temple makes bonds between north Indian and Nepalese society.

This temple is also famous for wedding ceremony between Nepalese-Indian, Indian-Indian and Nepalese Nepalese. This temple makes bonds between north Indian and Nepalese society.

2.Pashupatinath Temple Kathmandu

Situated on the banks of the Bagmati river, the Pashupatinath temple पशुपतिनाथ मन्दिर is the heart of the valley Kathmandu, Nepal.

Tens of thousands of pilgrims from India, Myanmar, Shree Lanka, China and other countries visit Pashupatinath Temple and to worship Shambhoo. Shambhoo is the patron god of yoga, meditation, and arts.

Many people believe lord shiva consume cannabis, snake poison, and Datura and he gets enlightenment. In the name of culture, many people also visit this place for Cannabis.☘

This temple is regarded as one of many sacred temples of Hindu religion.The temple functions as the chair of their central deity, Lord Pashupatinath.

3.Muktinath Temple Mustang

Muktinath temple, Mustang is famous among national and international trekkers. Mustang (sometimes called Desert of Nepal) is remotely located part of northern Nepal.

Many Hindu believes that one should visit Muktinath temple once in their life and it is necessary for them to attend Muktinath temple after four pilgrimages (शक्ति पिठ ) to India. Which is commonly known as Char Dham Yatra (चार धाम यात्रा ).

Road travel access to Muktinath is horrible. You can find a Plane for Jomson Mustang, But Airlines are not safe in Nepal, so it is better to reach there following the trail.This place has the negative temperature in winter. Snowfall and icy lake can be seen during winter. Anyway, the best season to visit this temple is spring season.

Muktinath is the origin of Kaligandaki river where Saligram(शालिग्राम ) can be found excessively. Saligram is a kind of sone which is another form of avatar of Lord Vishnu.

The Muktinath is one of my best Nepali temples. And everyone should visit here once in life.The trail is very much similar to Mardi Himal trail

4.Manakamana Temple Pokhara

Manakama temple is another famous Hindu temple situated at Gorkha District Nepal ( approx 120 kilometers from capital Kathmandu). The name Manakamana originated from Mano Kamana मन को कामना (in English wish from the heart).

There is a tradition of sacrificing the animals Like Goat, Hen, Pigeons etc. if one’s wish is fulfilled. Many Hindu believe that Goddess Manakamana Mai gives wishes to all, who wish from their heart. And some exchange their wish with animal’s life.

Manakama is one of the most famous tourist destinations. There is no direct road to reach Manakamana temple (if you are traveling from KTM-Narayenghat highway part). You have to go there by using the cable car or a short trail.

Temple is built in pagodas and is beautifully architectured Nepali temple.You must visit this temple once in your life.

5.Gadhimai Temple

Gadhimai temple is another historical temple located in Bara District south Nepal (Madhiesh region).
Animal sacrifice is part of Hindu culture.

People sacrifice the animal in an exchange with their wish. This temple is famous for Gadhimai festival when thousands of innocent buffalo were killed in the name of Bali.

It is estimated that more than 500,000 animals were killed in a single day in 2009. After that government band mass killing of the animal in a single day of Gadhimai festival.

But so many people believe that Bali paratha is not stoppable as long as Hindu religion is alive. You can still see some people killing animal most of the country.

This temple is located in Bhaktapur Nepal. A famous temple of Newari community.

7.Haleshi Mahadeva temple
